Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Percy Harvin moved to injured reserve – NFL News
Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Percy Harvin was sent to injured reserve on Wednesday.
In the third quarter of Week 9 game against Seattle Seahawks, Harvin got his ankle injured and left the ground. He did not play any game after that. Last week, he participated in practice session as a limited participant.
Vikings head coach Leslie Frazier announced in his routine interview about sending Harvin to injured reserve.
Frazier said:
"I know that he wants to win like we do, and I'm sure he's going to do everything he can do to help our football team. We'll see where it goes,"
According to Frazier, it is hard to say whether this injury has ended the season for the player. He is going to give a better answer in his next press conference.
Talking about Harvin’s return, Frazier said:
"Pretty much. There are some things, just got to see what's going to happen with him,"
Harvin has 62 receptions for 677 yards and three touchdowns this season.
Vikings quarterback Christian Ponder said of Harvin:
"Yeah, obviously we want him back out on the field, but we have good players that are getting out there. We’ll see what happens. I don't know what or when he'll be back. We're just focused on who's going to be out there, who's going to be practicing today."
Right after the injury, Harvin was on crutches. At that time it was expected to be a broken bone in his leg. After his medical examination it was revealed that he had sprained three joints.
Sprained joints normally take four to six weeks to heal up. Next week is going to be Harvin’s fourth week after injury.
Harvin was disappointed with the organisation for using him unevenly in the offence. He has also reportedly requested to be traded. Later on, he quietly cancelled that request.
He is tough and experienced, and among the best offensive players Vikings have got. Vikings have lost two out of three games in absence of Harvin.
