Minnesota Wild defeat the Dallas Stars 5-3 – NHL Recap
The Xcel Energy Centre was the venue for the game between the Minnesota Wild and the Dallas Stars this Sunday which the Wild won 5-3. It was an exciting game as both teams fought hard for a win.
The game started off with both teams making shots on goal, but they were unable to find the back of the net. The Wild successfully scored the opening goal of the game to get into the lead with the Stars coming back with some decent plays and scoring twice
to get into the lead. The second period started off with the Wild as the stronger of the two teams as they attacked and managed to score twice to get into the lead. The Stars made a goal as well to level the scores as the period ended on 3-3. The final period
saw the Wild making a strong start, as they scored twice during the period to win the game 5-3 in the end. Colton Gillies, winger of the Wild was named the Star of the Game as he scored a goal and continued to dominate the game through his terrific plays.
The game started off with the Wild making a good start of the game which saw them coming across scoring chances right from the word go. The Wild did not take long and scored in the seventh minute through Brad Staubitz from a brilliant back-hand shot to get
into the lead.
The Stars followed close by and were successful in scoring in the 13th minute through Brad Richards to level the scores. The Stars continued to pile pressure and scored once again through Brenden Morrow from a tip in shot to get into the lead.
The period ended with the Stars leading 2-1 as they made 15 shots on goal while the Wild made nine attempts.
The second 20 minutes of play saw the Wild stronger of the two teams and they scored in the eighth minute through Jared Spurgeon to level the score. The Wild were able to score once again in the 12th minute through Colton Gillies to get into the
lead with the goal scored through a superb back-hand shot.
The Stars successfully scored in the 19th minute through Alex Goligoski from a powerful strike to level the score once again as the period ended level on 3-3.
The final period kicked off with the Wild managing to score in the seventh minute through Antti Miettinen to get into the lead. The Wild successfully sealed the game with another goal scored by Pierre-Marc Bouchard in the final minute through a powerful
strike.
