Minnesota Wild plays host to the Colorado Avalanchein their sixth and final meeting of the season

Minnesota Wild will be playing host to Colorado Avalanche at the Xcel Energy Center this Tuesday.
This will be the sixth and final meeting between the two sides during the course of the season.
Wild are leading the series 3-2 with the last game won by Wild, 3-2.
David Jones was the star of the game as he scored two goals during the course of the game.
When these two teams met early on in the season in what was their second game, Avalanche had six consecutive games while Wild had been going through some tough times which saw them losing three consecutive games.
However, this time things are totally different. The Avalanche has gone through the worse time in the franchise as they have scored only a single point out of a possible 16 points.
Wild, on the other hand, have touched the .500 mark during the course of the last ten seasons.
Avalanche has been going through some very tough times ever since the end of January.
The poor form continued during the month of February and things aren’t getting any better.
Avalanche lost the game mostly with the difference of a single goal. However, the last game against Edmonton Oilers this past Saturday was more of a thrashing which saw Oilers winning 5-1 in the end.
"You can't dig yourself a hole like that, and that comes from not taking penalties in the first place," David Jones said. "Just bearing down on the penalty kill, I think, and bearing down our chances on the power play. We had a chance to get back into the
game. We just didn't give a good effort, I think."
The regular losses have affected the team’s morale and the confidence level as they aren’t able to put up the performances they are capable of.
The Avalanche has played 65 games during the course of the season out of which they have won 26 games in regulation time, eight games in overtime to score a total of 60 points.
Wild, on the other hand, have played 66 games during the season out of which they have won 34 games in regulation time and seven games in overtime and scored a total of 75 points.
Wild are just a single point behind the Los Angeles Kings who are in the final play-off position.
This Sunday, Wild came up with a brilliant performance against Kings as they crawled their way back into the game after falling behind by two goals.
However, it was the Kings who managed to win the game 3-2 after overtime. "I feel we left a point on the board," Andrew Brunette said. "I think we were sluggish in the first period, but I think we picked up the play after that and played better."
