  1. I think any team is in the mix for Ramirez. He can really help out the Twins. I heard that Adam Dunn might be getting traded so the Twins have to jump on Dunn. Dunn can be a threat in this lineup along Morneau, Mauer, and Monroe. They might have to give up Neshek, Liriano for him. They need to get starting pitching from a veteran. They have such a young rotation. I think they should try for Washburn, as he might help out the Rotation. They need starting pitching the most. Their offensive is good right now, so that is not a problem. They should be concerned about the rotation.

  2. they could get beltre

  3. Don't think the Twins will make a move. If they were going to, they would need to pick up a power hitter to bat behind Morneau. Some one like Beltre would be great, but they don't want to take on his contract. So my assumption would be they will go forward with the team they have unless they make a small move. As for their pitching, they have a great rotation, albeit young. If they dropped Hernandez for Liriano, they would have one of the best rotations in the bigs. Don't know what that one guys is talking about weak pitching. Come on, have you ever watched the Twins?

  4. they are intersted in pitching and a shortstop

  5. I haven't heard rumors about the Minnesota Twins

  6. Minnesota is too cheap to make any big trades.  It wouldn't surprise me at all if they do nothing but watch Chicago improve themselves by making a big trade.

The Twins' biggest move of the year could be to bring Franscisco Liriano up from the minors and to send Livan Hernandez to the bullpen (or send him to retirement...as far as I'm concerned he looks like a pitcher whose arm has completely run out of juice).

Unfortunately for Twins fans, the Twins' management is more concerned with finding ways to save money than winning the AL Central.  By leaving Liriano in the minors, the Twins hope to avoid making him eligible for salary arbitration at the end of the year.....which keeps his price low for next season but also guarantees they don't catch Chicago this season IMO.

  7. Minny has remained silent, while silently remaining in contention. I think they are thinking, why go out and spend, when with what they have, with a low pay roll is working fine for them. Similar to The Marlins several years ago in their championship season. They are just sitting back watching the contenders do their thing, while they appear content. Lets face it. They have a nice consistent Pitching Staff ( even with a 4.29 ERA which is right there with The Cards), and their offense has proved able to take to any task, and not just the M & M dudes. They could actually be "the surprise" team this season as with Marlins several years ago. I felt Minny would over take White Sox in the division by seasons end, but if its true that The Sox get Griffey, well, not so sure now. They should have tried to acquire a good arm, as with other teams,  but then this season, there doesnt seem to be many good arms floating around.
