Me and my friends want to go shopping in Buffalo together (we live in Canada.) However, my friend's parents passed away so she is the only one to take care of her younger 14 year old brother and would have to bring him along. He was caught stealing at a grocery store. It was minor (just a pack of gum.) The security guard stopped him. The manager wanted to let him off and just warn him not to do it again, but the security guard called in the police. The police said that they wouldn't press any charges against him but he would have to do some community service work. His punishment was that he had to write 5 essays. I was wondering.. does he have a record? If we bring him along, is there a chance we will be sent back from the border... ?

  1. they just wanted to scare him there is no record of it anywhere

  2. If they did not arrest him, and never filed charges, they tried to scare him. No you will not be turned back

  3. You should be fine.  I don't think they check criminal records on 14 year olds crossing the border

  4. Record or not, the border patrol won't restrict a 14 year old boy from crossing because of that. They don't even check criminal records anyway.

  5. No, he has no records. You should be fine but did you do somethng about that kid? sounds like he is really young and already had a miserable life i hope that the help anyone could provide him didn't end in that essay and that some therapist is taking care of him too.

  6. if he is a minor his Juvenile record will go away when he turns 18
