If i have a form of parerental consent and a few pieces of valid ID will i be able to cross the boarder without much problem, i'm going to be 15 at the time of the crossing and traveling with a 17 year old. Do i need a visa and all that, I'm an American with no criminal record or anything like that.

  1. No you need a named adult

  2. You do not need a visa to enter Canada.  You should be fine with your note of consent from your parents and proof of citizenship (birth certificate) and a form of government issued ID (driver's licence)  or if no driver's license then a school ID may work as well.    Make sure that your consent letter from your parents has a phone number that they can be reached at that day you are crossing the border.

  3. Minors can't cross borders without parental consent.

You will need a special consent form: signed and notarized by BOTH parents. And the 17-year old also needs one.

  4. If you are going to the US, then you're good. To go to Canada, though, you need a visa.
