I am just wondering since I'm 17, and once I find a job, is there anyway I can work more than max hours ? I know for minors the max is 40 hours but with consent from my parents(which I already have, they already explained they would let me work more) is there any strings I can pull to allow this?

  1. Laws for hours that minors can work are STATE laws, so you'd have to say what state you are in.

  2. Maybe if you had two jobs, but why would you want to work so much.  You're 17 go out with your friends.

  3. I'm sure it depends on the state you live in.  In NY, a 17-year-old can work up to 48 hours when school isn't in session, but only 28 when school is in session.  I don't see how it would matter that you are home-schooled, as I'm sure the intention of the law is to make sure that you can devote a reasonable amount of time to study.
