I am underage and was at my college orientation.I was invited to go "hang" out with my orientation leaders and some other people who were also at orientation. I left the party and returned to get my phone. I was back in the room for a minute and the police came. We all got tickets minors in consumption, for being there and being around alcohol. I was not drinking at the time but thought honesty was the way to go and told the police when asked if I had antthing to drink. I had a couple beers hours earlier. he gave me the ticket and now have to go to court in San Antonio texas. I am wondering if I need to have a lawyer with me. I think I will have a fine and community service. They can not prove I was drinking altho I did confess. ANy advice? Thanks

  1. No you dont need a lawyer. That will cost you more than the ticket itself. You just admitted to the world that you were drinking. End of story. Pay the fine and get on with your life. Going to court and lying (changing your story) would cause you to go from a ordinance violation to a misdemeanor criminal offense. I guess if you are looking to get into the criminal system this is the way to start. Then maybe while at court you could pull a gun and make it to the big time with a felony.

A big part of this is your morals and ethics. Admit your wrongdoing and you will be better off.
