The Serbian winger has made it clear that he will leave the Eredivisie champions in the upcoming winter transfer market, and has stressed that he will be trying his utmost to return to full fitness at the earliest.
Ajax Amsterdam attacker, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Miralem-Sulejmani-c25985, has confirmed that he will be leaving the Eredivisie champions in the upcoming winter transfer market.
The 23-year-old, who joined the Amsterdammers in the summer of 2008 after making 34 league appearances for http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/SC-Heerenveen-c40463, has a contract that is due to expire at the end of the ongoing 2012/13 campaign.
Reports in Dutch media earlier this season indicated that the Serbian ace would be putting pen to paper on a new deal that will prolong his stay at Amsterdam Arena.
However, the technically gifted attacker, who has failed to represent De Joden since September due to an injury, has now made it clear that he has no intentions of staying at Amsterdam Arena. The 23-year-old has stressed that he is working extremely hard
to return to full fitness.
“I must now focus on games in the reserves. I have to get game time in order to be fully fit during the winter, when I will get a chance to leave”, Sulejmani was quoted as saying to a Serbian newspaper Vecernje Novosti.
The highly rated winger, who was one of the most expensive signings of the Amsterdammers at the start of the 2008/09 season, enjoyed plenty of success during his initial career in Amsterdam.
However, consistent injuries coupled with contract disputes with the Ajax management prevented Sulejmani from becoming one of the most lethal attackers in the Dutch top flight.
The Serbian international has thus far represented De Joden in well over 100 games in all competitions and has netted 38 goals while setting up plenty more along the way.
Reports indicate that the Ajax management will sell the former Heerenveen winger for any offer in the region of six million Euros rather than letting him go on a free transfer at the end of the season.
If rumours are to be believed, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429 and AC Milan have set their sights on signing the 23-year-old attacker.
