http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Kevin-Mirallas-c20751, wants to score goals as much as to feed passes to his fellow attackers and has set himself the target of claiming 10 scalps for this season.
The Belgian International has enjoyed a successful spell at Goodison Park so far, quickly acquainting himself to the Toffees playing style.
The 25-year old has already provided scores of assists for his colleagues, proving to be a revelation for http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/David-c10409 Moyes. However, he has only managed to claim a single goal for himself in his 9 league appearances.
Although the prolific forward is enjoying his current role in the team, he believes that he needs to get on the scoresheet more often.
He said that he was focused on feeding passes to the likes of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Marouane-Fellaini-c24295, but at the same time wants to chip in with a goal every now and then.
“I think at the moment I have more assists than I have goals,” he told the reporters.
“I’ve provided one or two decent passes for my colleagues to score, but at the same time I’m hoping to continue to improve in front of goal and I think 10 goals is a reasonable target for my first season.”
Mirallas has been, at times, involved in a more central role, as Moyes has let loose the prolific duo of Jelavic and Fellaini upfront.
The pair has been nothing short of exceptional this season, with the latter been virtually unplayable at times.
The former Olympiacos player compared his role with that of the duo. He observed that his part was a bit easier than them, as applying the killer finishing touch was something which is difficult for any player.
He also said that their mercurial presence in the team has served to take the pressure off him, allowing him to play more freely and with confidence.
“Sometimes it’s easier to supply the pass for a goal than to add that finishing touch. It encourages you to put crosses in when you have players like that in the middle,” he added.
Mirallas was one of the most feared strikers in the Greek Superleague, netting 34 goals in just 67 appearances.
