  1. Not bad but i would check craigslist first and try to get a slightly used board that is a brand name. I think $400 is a little to expensive.

  2. Miramar is the name of a brand of boards that was made locally in Northern California in the 70s. I can't find any "Miramar" website, which is kind of worrisome. Looking at the add, I suspect that this is a mass produced popout. It's not on my China Board list, so it could be made in eastern Europe (another sweatshop source of popout),

The board looks like a decent design. It is the quality of workmanship that will let you down in the long run, not the design. Fun shapes are great to learn on, but that is not the way I would recommend buying a surfboard. GO TO A SURF SHOP! the folks there will help you find a decent beginner's board that is suitable for your local breaks, and fits your budget. Just tell them up front, you don't want a popout! There will be lots of nice used boards in that price range, if you shop around. And, some good local shapers might have some sticks for sale at close to that price.

buying a surfboard on line is like buying a car on line. Remember, Caveat Emptor (let the buyer beware).
