Question:

Mirena question?

For those of you that have used Mirena how long did you use it for before having your second child? Our baby boy is 3 months old and I will be starting to use it this month. We don't want a huge age gap between our children, maybe only a year 1/2-2 years. Would it be worth using for just that short amount of time? Or would we be better off sticking with condoms and/or pills? Thanks!

  1. i am on the merina... but i do think if you are planning on having them sort of close in age maybe mirena is not the best choice. when you get it out it could take your body a little longer to get back on track and actually get pregnant again. it does hurt to get placed in, and not to mention mirena is not cheap.... i would just stick with pills, condoms or even shots if you find that as an option.

They say you can get pregnant soon after removing the Mirena. I love my Mirena ..........no pills to take.........no condoms to break.........no shots.............no hassles

  3. I've only seen the commercials for Mirena but they make it sound like it's more long term. I know it can last for up to 5 years but I don't think it's th kind of procedure meant for just a coulpe of months.
