Mirko Slomka eyeing a win over Standard Liege on Wednesday- Europa League News
Hannover manager, Mirko Slomka, has instated his desire of winning the Europa League game against Standard Liege to qualify through to the knockout stages. He also urged his team to remain positive on their travel and try breaking Liege’s resolute defence.
The manager was talking in the wake of his team’s Europa League clash against the Belgian outfit, scheduled to take place on Wednesday, November 30, at Sclessin. A win over the group B leaders would help Hannover progress through to the next round.
However, a loss or a draw would make the last game against Vorskla Poltava a must-win encounter for the Reds.
Slomka urged his side to give their hundred percent on Wednesday and complete the mission before going into their last group game against the struggling Poltava.
He told that his team are well prepared for the game and would definitely make the Belgians pay of their mistakes unlike the previous match between the two sides which ended in a 0-0 draw.
The manager expressed satisfaction with his team’s current form and vowed to go top of group B by defeating Les Rouches in their own backyard.
While talking to kicker magazine, the tactician further mentioned:
"All that we need is one win from our remaining two games. Finishing first would give us a potentially easier opponent in the next round."
Meanwhile, the opposition manager has already sent warning signals to the German outfit by confirming the participation of in form striking duo of Mohamed Tchite and Gohi Bi Cyriac.
The two have been in tremendous form off-late and are believed to have set a trap for Die Roten.
Tchite predicted a tough trip for the Germans, advising them to come prepared if they want to register an unlikely win over a strong Liege outfit.
"There is no secret. Before, I did not have any chances because I was not receiving the ball, but now I am getting the chances and I am scoring. Against Malines, we proved once again that Cyriac and I get on fantastically together. For the opening goal,
I just called and he knew exactly where to put the ball. It's like we know where each other is with our eyes closed." The striker concluded while telling his last game’s experience against Malines at the weekend.
