The Hannover manager admits that his side missed a host of opportunities to score in the game at Allianz Arena.
Die Roten lost their seventh game of the season when they lost against Bayern Munich on Saturday, March 24. http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Toni-Kroos-c35425 and Mario Gomez scored for the home side whereas Didier Konan found the only goal for the visitors as Hannover
lost 2-1.
Slomka claimed that his side had some great opportunities to score in the game and admitted that his team could have achieved a good result if they had taken their opportunities. He insisted that Hannover could have earned a point
as they had two great chances after the interval to find the net.
The manager admitted that Bayern were the deserved winners of the game as they played the better football throughout the course of the game. He claimed that Jupp Heynckes’ team found the goals at the right intervals and once the
home side had taken the lead, it was always going to be difficult for them to come back.
“We put them under pressure at the end and we twice had the chance to equalise. We were thinking we might come away with a point, but for all that, Bayern deserved to win. Bayern’s goals came at just the right time for them,” he
was quoted as saying in an interview.
The tactician admitted that his side put in their best effort and played brilliantly in the first-half. However, he insisted that finishing is certainly the area the team has to work on in the future games as there are still seven
important games to go until the season ends.
“It was hard to defend against either of them. We lacked their cold-blooded ruthlessness in front of goal. It was still a good away performance, and it should encourage us before our trip to Madrid,” the manager concluded.
Hannover are one of the two teams in the Bundesliga who have not lost a single game at home this season. Mirko Slomka has had a sensational season managing the team as he had led the team to the quarter-final of the UEFA Europa
League.
