Mirko Vucinic hopes to impress Premier League clubs

Montenegro striker Mirko Vucinic has stated that he hopes to impress some of the Premier League clubs who have recently showed interest in signing him, when his country meets England on
Tuesday evening, October 12.
The Roma forward told
The Daily Mail, “I am very happy there is a lot of interest from the Premier League. I hope to do my best [against England] and have a great game. The Premier League is one of the best leagues in the world, I just have to keep playing my football in
the best possible manner.”
Vucinic is undoubtedly Montenegro’s star player, and he will play a pivotal role on Tuesday at Wembley. But his comments may not have gone over well at Roma. Footballers’ heads are turned
by the merest of transfer rumours nowadays, and for Vucinic to speak out about his delight regarding interest from other clubs makes him seem like a player that doesn't have his eye on the ball (at his current club).
This week, he will be focused on bringing down England at Wembley, which if successful, would continue Montenegro’s excellent start to the qualifying campaign. Currently top of the group
(although having played a game more than the Three Lions), Montenegro has certainly put themselves in a decent position to claim one of the top two places in the group.

Vucinic is clearly happy with how the side is performing. “We have a lot of confidence, having done well to date. There will be a difficult period ahead, but as long as we continue to
give 100 percent, I am sure we will make our nation proud and give them satisfaction from a footballing perspective.”
The challenge of England at Wembley is a daunting one for most countries, but Montenegro can head into the clash knowing that, with wins over Wales and Switzerland already under their
belts, a loss at Wembley wouldn’t be a disaster. And who knows, with Vucinic keen to impress watching managers and scouts, perhaps he will be inspired enough to deliver a match-winning performance.
