Former Dinamo Zagreb manager believes that Lokomotiv Moscow did the right thing to sign the 43-year-old manager
Croatian national team manager, Slaven Bilic, penned a long-term deal at Lokomotiv Moscow after replacing Jose Couceiro earlier this week. However, neither the terms nor the details of the contract are officially confirmed by the
Moscow-based club.
Well know Croatian football expert, Miroslav Blazevic,
has hailed Bilic’s appointment at the Russian outfit, and assured the fans of a quality buy. Blazevic backed the new head coach, admitting that the Croatian Cup winner can turn the tables at Moscow.
Couceiro, who decided to quit earlier this month, resigned following Lokomotiv’s failure to secure UEFA Europa League qualification after a series of disappointing results during the third league round. The Railroaders recorded
three wins, four draws and five defeats during the round.
The Parovozy were in the market for a new manager after Couceiro had told the management of his possible departure from Lokomotiv stadium at the end of the ongoing Russian Premier League campaign.
Bilic is expected to sign http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Niko-Kranjcar-c27926 from Bayern Munich and Tottenham Hotspur respectively, during the summer transfer window.
The aforementioned players are expected to grab the opportunity to work under their compatriot with both hands, as they have failed to get more first team action with their respective teams.
Blazevic tipped Bilic to shine at Lokomotiv, carrying his reputation of a successful manager during his career.
“I don’t think he will take a lot of time to settle in Russia. He has worked in different regions during his managerial career and proved himself as a decent manager. He is very talented in the sense that he can tune up a team
or a player. In my opinion, he is gifted.
“Bilic is a sincere and open person and I think this is his strength. He is a good psychologist after getting a law degree. However, he can be very strict if necessary.” The Yugoslav Cup winner was quoted as saying.
Blazevic went on to concede that Bilic wanted to try his luck in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749. However, he did the right thing to sign for the Moscow-based club.
