Bayern Munich confirm departure of German international Miroslav Klose – official report
Bundesliga giants, Bayern Munich officials have revealed that German international, Miroslav Klose, has declined an extension to his contract at the club and will leave the outfit on a Bosman transfer this summer. The veteran attacker was touted for a move away from Allianz Arena in the January transfer window but chose to end the campaign with the Bavarians before making a decision on his future.

Klose leaves Allianz Arena after four years in which he scored 24 goals in 98 league appearances. In the recently concluded season, the German International struggled to cement a place in the club’s starting XI and made only 20 appearances, scoring a sole consolation goal. Furthermore, the rapid rise of Thomas Muller did not help Klose’s case either.
In a press-conference, the former Kaiserslautern striker said, “I was here in Munich for four years, four beautiful years that I will never forget. For me, Bayern Munich would always be a special club and will have a special place in my heart.”
Reports suggested that Bayern Munich were willing to offer Klose another year at the capital club plus and option of one more year but Klose declined the offer. Rumours suggest that Klose was looking for a two-year contract along with improved terms, something that Bayern Munich officials could not provide.
New coach of Bayern Munich, Jupp Heynckes, wanted to have Klose in his squad for the 2011/12 Bundesliga campaign. However, with the arrival of Nils Petersen from Bundesliga 2 side, Energie Cottbus, Klose knew that first-team opportunities would be hard to come by and thus made the decision to leave the club.
Reports now suggest that La Liga side, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Everton-c13019 and Tottenham Hotspur, are keen on recruiting the experienced striker who has scored 52 goals for Bayern Munich in 149 games in all competitions.
