Miroslav Klose looking to represent Germany until the 2014 World Cup – International News
The former Bayern Munich striker, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Miroslav-Klose-c26049, has revealed desire to represent Germany until the 2014 FIFA World Cup. The player wants to set a record for scoring most number of goals in the competition before retiring from international football.
Klose is currently sitting on 14 goals in the competition, one short of all-time goal scorer, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Ronaldo-c31734. The Brazilian striker retired from game earlier this year after making 98 appearances for his country to go along with 62 goals.
The German striker, on the other hand, is also on the verge of becoming top goal scorer for his country and is six short of the record set by Gerd Muller. Muller bagged 68 goals for Germany from just 62 games while Klose is currently sitting on 62
from 112 international caps.
With Euro 2012 around the corner, the striker believes that this German side is certainly one of the favourites to lift the crown. Klose also thought that even the likes of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Germany-c2904 are to face any
of those two sides in the competition.
While talking to Kicker, the veteran striker enthused, "If all goes as planned, I will play until 2014 with Lazio. Before retiring from football, I will play at the World Cup. Those who know me well know that the World Cup is my goal."
The Poland-born player tied knots with the Italian outfit, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Lazio-c39775, during the summers after spending more than two decades in Germany. The striker represented the likes of FC Kaiserslautern, Werder Bremen and Bayern Munich during his time in the country.
Klose is highly likely to make the cut for Joachim Low’s final squad for the upcoming European competition. The 33-year-old could well break Muller’s record of 68 goals during the same tournament, before shifting his focus towards 2014 World Cup.
The former Werder Bremen player is certain to play for another three years and will continue representing Lazio for the remainder of his career.
