Mirpur was a difficult wicket to bat on says http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Misbah-ul-Haq-c1972 – Cricket News Update
The Men in Green continue their winning streak after Captain Misbah-ul-Haq led roster managed to secure an impressive 50 runs win at the one-off Twenty20 (T20) match against the Bangladeshi hosts, at the Shere Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur, Dhaka, on
November 29, 2011. However, for Pakistani Skipper, Misbah had much to commend his batting arsenal, which despite stumbling in the closing overs of the game, piled up a decent tally of 135 runs, with a loss of 7 wickets.
However, during his post-match comments, Misbah did admit that the Mirpur pitch was a difficult turf to bat on and came with some varying conditions for the batters, which resulted in some consecutive middle order wicket losses – but despite all this, scoring
135 runs was a sufficient aggregate.
“I think it was a difficult wicket to bat on. There were some loose patches and the ball was just bouncing and turning and I think scoring 135 runs on this wicket was good enough,” said Misbah.
"If you consider the wicket, I think the batsmen did a pretty good job for the way they got the start. There was a little tremble in the middle overs, which cut down the score by 10 to 12 runs. Scoring 140 or 150 would have been a brilliant job," he added.
Opting to bat first, the Men in Green openers, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Imran-Farhat-c64218, managed to post a swift start for the Pakistani tourists, but failed to retain a lasting association after both wickets fell before the ten overs mark.
Although the side trailed on to suffering another stint of blows, but with Skipper Misbah, in partnership with Omar Akmal, rescued the team’s line-up, holding on to the middle order wicket for some good overs.
With a total loss of 7 wickets, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Pakistan-c755 managed to bat 135 runs, in response to which, the Asian Tigers came out with a rather disappointing performance, after falling victim to the imposing bowling arsenal on the Men in Green squad.
Captain Misbah also said that he judged the Mirpur pitch during the Bangladesh’s innings, which is why he opted to kick off his bowling run with spinner Mohammad Hafeez, who has been an effective bowler on a turning pitch.
