Mirror Anna secures Women’s 100m freestyle title: Day one – 2012 Ukraine Summer Cup
Mirror Anna of Don secured gold medal of the Women’s 100m freestyle on foremost day of the 2012 Ukraine Summer Cup in Kharkiv on Monday, May 7.
Anna, who captured silver medal of the 50m freestyle earlier at the session, demonstrated her gruelling efforts in the double lap freestyle event by seizing gold medal of the event.
Her immaculate effort placed her prominently ahead of her strongest challenger, Stepaniuc Daria of CLC, throughout the event as she touched the wall with the timing of 56.08 seconds.
Subsequently, the gold medallist remained 0.18 seconds faster from Daria, who proved her eligibility for silver medal of the discipline by submitting a time of 56.26 seconds.
She was followed by Vac Alina, who managed to reserve her spot on the medal rostrum as she remained almost 0.40 seconds behind and clocked a timing of 56.67 seconds for bronze medal.
The third position holder was followed by Oksana Marchuk of RVN, who was only 1.19 seconds slower and appeared on the finishing end for fourth position by submitting a time of 57.86 seconds.
In the meantime, the audience witnessed an exhausting effort of Podlisna Cues of Valery, who remained almost half a body length behind and transpired on the finishing blockade as fifth best swimmer with the timing of 58.17 seconds.
Sixth position of the discipline was secured by Sheiko Alina of ARC, who remained almost 0.37 seconds slower from Cues and touched the wall with the timing of 58.54 seconds.
Her gruelling effort remained just 0.02 seconds lucky from Rahushenko Mrs. of ANW, who completed her race in seventh best place of the event by posting a time of 58.56 seconds.
Finally, Pikiner Irina of DPR completed her race in eighth best place of the event as she failed to upset any of her challengers and reached the finishing end with the timing of 58.63 seconds.
Furthermore, the position holders were awarded medals for their impressive efforts in the 100m discipline at the medal ceremony of the championship. In addition, the arena also admired gruelling sprints of all contestants in their exclusive freestyle event.
