Mirza might compete in the Galtee Midsummer Sprint Stakes and the Bathwick Tyres Cathedral Stakes
With his brilliant performance in the Fly London Southend To Barcelona Handicap at Newmarket on 9th July, 2012, several options have opened up for Rae Guest’s charge, Mirza.
The son of Oasis Dream, out of Millyant, claimed victory over the Mark Johnston trained, Es Que Love, by a small margin of ¾ of a length, and claimed the second victory of the season.
The first one being in the Dubai Duty Free Handicap at Newbury, where he finished 1 ¼ lengths before the Tom Dascombe trained, Blue Jack.
Rae Guest might run him in the Galtee Midsummer Sprint Stakes at Cork and the Bathwick Tyres Cathedral Stakes at Salisbury.
The five-year-old runner might also run in the Wokingham Stakes at Royal Ascot on 23rd
June, 2012, but it Rae Guest has his own conditions for the Wokingham possibility.
"He's entered in the Wokingham at Royal Ascot next week, but it really depends if he runs this weekend."
He added:
"He's in at both Cork and Salisbury and there's a good chance he could go over to Ireland, we're just checking out the ground and the transport situation."
Ed De Gas, son of Peintre Celebre, out of mare Sambala, was Guest’s choice for the Royal Ascot since he won his first three starts, but his seventh place finish in the Group 3 Betfred Derby Trial Stakes has made the trainer uncertain.
No decision has been made about the runner’s entry in the Royal Ascot but the trainer stated:
"I think he'll run next week and we're going to give him three options."
He further elaborated: "We'll keep all bases covered and make a decision when we're more sure about the ground."
The R. A. Pegum owned runner was whelped on 13th February, 2009, and started his career on 17th February, 2012, when he entered the Bet At Blue Square On Your Mobile Median Auction Maiden Stakes at Lingfield.
Under the command of rider, Chris Catlin, he managed to break all barriers, and land the victory, 2 lengths before the race favourite, Gabrial The Hero, who was mounted by jockey, Stevie Donohoe.
