Question:

Misano............?

Will it be "same old same old" or might there be a dark horse this weekend? Will Tires be an issue again? When Casey was first winning everybody said it was the bike, now they're saying its the tires. Nobody mentions 2nd and 3rd place are Michelin runners!

Personally, I'm gonna keep an eye on Ant West. Now he's been confirmed as riding for Kawasaki next year, there's a big weight off his shoulders. Also he's the only rider thats raced on the circuit in its current layout. And he won! (WSS 17th June). I'm not saying he's gonna win again, but he should do well. (Might be worth an outside bet for a podium!)

Obviously you can't count out the "Doctor". With his home village about 10 miles from the track, he's gonna have unbelievable support. Plus its been confirmed that he's running with the new pneumatic valved engine. If the reliability's there it could prove pivitol.

Whatever happens, it should be a good race. (Its got to be better than the dull WSBK back in June)

Any predictions?

  1. Stoner, mate.

  2. Well, when there is a Moto GP race  in Italy and Rossi is on the track the crowd goes wild.Do you remeber their behaviour in Miguelo. Then no one expected Rossi to finish first, after he didn't do well in tha qualifications but he made it.I think this story  will be repeated in Misano.Besides he's competing with a new engine and in an interview he said that he's having some new "magic" tyres. So my prediction is that the Doctor will achieve a surprising victory in Misano.

  3. Well I just got back from the Hollys (after the flight was cancelled)  and picked up MCN to see the new tyres and engine Rossi was testing is no good to him.

Your right however, you cant EVER rule out the Doctor.

    Look at Mugello & Assen.

I feel Edwards might be a mood for a fight this weekend. He will be PlSSED off at the fact he is now in the Tech 3 team and may just go out all guns blazing.

Stoner ( read Man on Fire ) will do well. His team / tyre / bike are working great this year.

    Cant wait.

  4. No one expected Stoner to start winning and why is that? Because while he was in his old team he did nothing! He came to Ducati and everyone starts saying he is so good. If he was so good why the h**l he couldn't win last season? I say that he has a good bike and good tyres! We can't always blame Michelin but come on, they are not doing what they used to do!

For the race tomorrow I think that Stoner will be winning if the weather is good. Seeing that Rossi is second I come to the conclusion that he has a chance to be in the first 3 places. If it's wet I'm almost 100% sure that we'll be seeing West and Vermulen on the podium!

I'll keep my fingers crossed, I really want to see Rossi winning again

  5. Sounds like stoner is bitching about track so he could be doing his usual ( I got problems) when he is gona find half a sec. im gona wait to see if melandri is as fast in the dry. then go see what pedrossa can do with new parts. and hope caparossi stuffs em up to show he is still fast.

  6. Hey Neil,

Too right there's been too much talk about tyres- at today's free practice they could have been paddling, not riding so no clues there as to a possible winner (except everybody is now sure Stoner is gonna walk it- well - not literally!)

So, taking a punt - I would say the top 3 will be Stonor, Hopkins & Melandri unless something radical happens (read crash)

Of course Valentino will be giving it beans - so lets hope for some tight racing.
