Misbah-Ul-Haq sets sight on triumph over India as the world awaits the clash of titans

Pakistan’s vice-captain http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Punjab-c833 Cricket Association
Stadium in Mohali on Wednesday.
The arch-rivals would clash in the second semi-final of the World Cup; a game that has already set pulses rising in both countries. Billions across the world are preparing for the ultimate clash between the two nations that have fought
three wars in the last 65 years.
The members of the Pakistan team have their eyes set on the match; the team that is a blend of experience and youth which is buzzing with excitement at the prospect of playing the biggest game of their lives.
Veteran member of the team Misbah-Ul-Haq thinks that the batsmen would have to step up to the plate and get past the stiffest opposition that they are set to brace with.
"It's really a plus for teams whose batsmen are in form, are scoring centuries and are in the top 20 run-scorers, but winning is important," Misbah said.
The middle-order batsman added that the lack of centuries for the Men in http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Green-c60723 is not a concern for the team. He added that if the World Cup is won without a century, he would not be disappointed at all.
He thinks that it is more important to score match winning runs than hundreds; his call was perceived as a jibe at Sachin Tendulkar who has scored two tons for India, yet, has failed to win either of the match for his country during the
group stage.
"If you score a fifty or even a timely twenty or thirty that is vital for a victory, then that's good enough for the team." This under-the-radar cricketing approach has worked for Pakistan, particularly after the horrors of the England
tour now called the 'spot-fixing series.'
Misbah stated that the lack of pace in Sri Lankan wickets was the main reason why the Pakistani batsmen struggled in the group stage. Most of the centuries in the competition have been scored on batting friendly Indian wickets and Misbah
hopes that batting would become easier in the crucial match, to be played on a belter in Mohali.
Meanwhile, the Pakistani fans would be pinning their hopes on Misbah who has been in the form of his life in the recent past.
Ever since he was appointed captain of the test team, the Faisalabad-born batsman has hit a purple patch. He has scored as many as six half centuries in the longest format and carried the form over in the ODIs where he amassed one crucial
knock after another in http://www.senore.com/Cricket/New-Zealand-c754 and the first few games of the World Cup.
Once again, it is his calming influence which would be the key to http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Pakistan-c755’s chances in the match. The level headed batsman was a strong contender to captain the team in the World Cup after the Chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board, Ijaz
Butt,  had developed serious differences with http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Shahid-Afridi-c2482 on the eve of the team’s departure for the tournament.
However, issues between the two were resolved and Afridi was named the captain. Despite not leading the team in the tournament, Misbah has made some important calls and been a permanent feature of the think tank led by Afridi and Coach
Waqar Younis.
Mishah, now at the twilight of his career, has the opportunity of doing something very special for his country. A performance in Mohali is set to give him a name that would last a life time in what is being hailed as the biggest ODI contest
of all time!
