Pakistan’s new Test match captain, Misbah-ul-Haq, has responded to the criticism that has come his way after he was appointed the captain by saying that he did not agree with the critics. Misbah also said
that he needed to be allowed some time before he was shunned aside as a captain and a player.
Misbah spoke to reporters in Lahore and said, "I do not agree with what the critics are saying, doubting my abilities as a captain, and saying I am not capable of delivering."

already 36 and not a permanent member of the side.

"I was engaged in cricket because I was confident that I can make a comeback, which eventually happened."
Misbah also supported the Pakistani batsmen saying that the conditions in England were very difficult and that it would not be the same in UAE. He also enforced the belief that the side will not miss Mohammad
Asif and Mohammad Amir given that their strength was spin.
"Our strength in the spin bowling department could be the key in the UAE. We have three spinners in the squad and all are different styles of spinners, so the variety is there. There should be turn and
bounce on offer, and it's up to them to make the most of those conditions."
