Misbah interested in resuming T20 Career

Talking to reporters in Lahore, the impressive batsman was of the view, “I definitely would like to play T20 cricket if the selectors give me an opportunity. It is their decision not to pick me in the T20 side. But I don’t think
my T20 career is over and I still feel I can contribute in this form of the game.”
Despite being named the captain for the Test team for its tour to New Zealand, the senior batsman has not been included into the T20 matches. The last time he got a chance to play a T20 match was during the World Cup held in the

While talking to the media, Misbah felt that T20 was a demanding part of the game, which, he said, he would love to pursue. He claimed that if given an opportunity, he had the potential to deliver the expected results. Pondering
upon the upcoming series against New Zealand, he was of the view that his bowlers were going to play an important role against the Kiwis.

Misblah said that he had the bowling strength which could enhance his team’s chances of winning the series before the upcoming 2011 World Cup. According to him, his team’s performance against the Kiwis would give a clear indication
about where the team stands compared to its rivals around the world.
The Test skipper felt that after coming back from their tour to England, the players have displayed good performances to gain their confidence back, however, he said, if they would successfully defeat New Zealand on its home grounds,
it will give the team the right state of mind which was necessary for its preparations for the World Cup.
