Misbah scores unbeaten 101 in the 2-day match against Guyana
Misbah-ul-Haq’s unbeaten century and the openers’ useful partnership guided http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Pakistan-c755 to a huge total of 330 runs on the first day of the 2-day game against Guyana, in Georgetown.
Pakistan after winning the toss, took an impressive batting start with the openers http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Azhar-Ali-c46890. The duo set a strong stand of 92 runs.
Hafeez scored 52 runs, before he was caught by http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Shemroy-Barrington-c89966 off the bowling of Ronsford Beaton.
Azhar amassed 57 runs before he was caught by http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Asad-Shafiq-c46208 came in at number three but could not contribute much to his side. He could only score 21 runs and was bowled out by the right-arm pacer, Keon Joseph.
However, Misbah, the Test skipper, proved to be worthy of his cap. He beat the Guyana bowlers and hit an unbeaten 101 off 132 balls.
Being the Test skipper, Misbah played an appreciable role in setting a big run target. Guyana’s spinner, Zaheer Mohamed was Misbah’s major victim.
The skipper added 69 runs with http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Umar-Akmal-c94595, before Umar was trapped by Mohamed.
Following Umar’s fall, no other batsmen could add much to the inning except for http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Umar-Gul-c94604. Gul also remained unbeaten after scoring 40 runs along with the skipper.
Hammad Azam just scored five runs and was caught by Barrington while attempting to loft one off Mohamed.
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Abdur-Rehman-c41691 added three runs before being caught by Khan.
Khan was the pick of the bowlers for his side. He claimed three wickets in 26 overs.
Mohamed picked two wickets in 16 overs while Beaton and Joseph claimed one wicket each.
Guyana on the other hand, scored 25 runs safely before the umpires called it a day.
Pakistan will play their first Test match on 12th May at the Guyana National Stadium.
