http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Misbah-ul-Haq-c1972: Pakistan playing India is a good chance for the players to prove themselves – Cricket News Update
The skipper of Pakistan cricket team, Misbah-ul-Haq, admitted that there is a lot of pressure on players whenever http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Pakistan-c755 and India face each other.
However, the Green Shirts' skipper asserts that it is a great opportunity for players to make a name for themselves. If a player overcomes the pressure situation and plays well against the arch-rivals than his efforts never goes
unnoticed says Misbah.
The 37-year-old shared these views during a press conference before their Asia Cup 2012 clash against the defending champions, India at Shere Bangla National Stadium, Mirpur.
The skipper of Men in Green said, “There is always pressure when http://www.senore.com/Cricket/India-c750 and Pakistan play each other, but it is also a good chance for the players to prove themselves. The way people remember performances in these matches, if you
do well it is a great confidence booster, and gives great satisfaction.”
Misbah also begged to differ from his Indian counterpart, Mahendra Singh Dhoni’s comments - who thinks that there is more responsibility instead of pressure.
The hype surrounding Pakistan and India’s match is always huge; supporters of both countries are cricket frenzied and expect their team to annihilate the other. This high expectation from fans and the media publicity puts a lot
of pressure on cricketers, some crumble while others rise above it.
Misbah, who is under a lot of criticism from Pakistani media for his defensive approach, is a victim of the pressure. The right-handed batsman nearly lost his place in the team after he failed to guide Pakistan to victory in the
2011 World Cup semi-final against India at Mohali.
The aging batsman has buried the hatchet of the 29-run defeat against India at Mohali and is now looking forward to what is to come next. Misbah believes that remembering the bad times will only mount more pressure.
He said, “I think as a player it is better to not think too much about your past performances, whether they led to a win or a loss, and it is better to focus on the matches to come; thinking about what happened previously will
only increase the pressure.”
