Pakistan’s skipper Misbah-ul-Haq has claimed that his batsmen have absolutely no problems while facing http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Sri-Lanka-c758’s pace ace Lasith Malinga, who won the man of the match award for his brilliant bowling display in the second One Day International (ODI) of
the five match series in the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/United-Arab-Emirates-c3033 (UAE).
Pakistan overcame Sri Lanka in the three match Test series comfortably by 1-0, as Malinga no longer plays the longest version of the game.
The pacer returned for limited-over cricket, but was unable to make an impression in the opening ODI, which the opposition won easily by eight wickets.
The main reason behind Sri Lanka’s loss in the first match was a poor batting display, as the entire team was dismissed for 131 runs after skipper http://www.senore.com/Cricket/TM-Dilshan-c2691 opted to bat first on a flat batting pitch.
However, an improved batting performance in the second ODI meant that Malinga had an opportunity to pressurise the opposition. This was exactly what he did with the ball in his hand, taking three crucial wickets for the team.
Despite all this, Misbah was not really worried about Malinga and said that his batsmen will be able to tackle him in the remaining games.
However, the Pakistan captain went onto praise the opposition’s spearhead saying, “There are many fast bowlers in Pakistan who can bowl really quick, but what makes Malinga special is his variety. He is different from all pacers and has a different kind
of action.”
However, the 37-year-old further added that the batsmen have learnt from the defeat in the second match and will certainly bounce back in the next encounter.
He claimed, “Everybody has realised their mistakes. We have worked on our mistakes and have focused on correcting it during the last few days. We have also decided that we should see the new ball through while batting, especially not losing any wicket in
the first ten overs if we are batting second.”
Pakistan will take on Sri Lanka in the third ODI of the series at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium in UAE on Friday, November 18, 2011.
The series is currently levelled at 1-1 with three more games remaining.
