Pakistan’s skipper Misbah-ul-Haq has claimed that it will be hard to adjust straight away with a new coach, as the team was doing a perfect job with former coach http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Waqar-Younis-Maitla-c96193.
The former fast bowler had announced his resignation prior to the team’s tour of Zimbabwe. He wanted to give some time to his family and also left the team citing health concerns.
However, Misbah saw this as a big loss since he had a very good understanding with Waqar. He stated, “He was a good coach and I had a good understanding with him. He was there always to assist me in pressure situations and in taking hard decisions. So his
going has made a difference to us. But mentally we are now prepared to work with a new coach.”
The http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Pakistan-c755 captain further added that he was prepared to work with any coach. He said, “It is the board decision whether they appoint a local or foreign coach. But it is true we will require time to settle down with the new coach and understand him and
this is never easy for any team.”
The Men in Green will play their next series against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/United-Arab-Emirates-c3033 (UAE) in October. The team will be aiming to continue the winning momentum and overcome the opposition.
However, Sri Lanka will not be an easier opposition like http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Zimbabwe-c3045. This series will be the first real challenge for Misbah as captain of the team. He has been doing a terrific job in the Test matches, but has yet to prove his mental strength and decision
making in the limited-over cricket.
The 37-year-old has a 100 percent win record in One Day International (ODI) cricket, but most his victories have come against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Lions-c808, it will be hard for the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB)
to replace him with a younger captain.
Misbah’s aim will be to retain his position as captain until the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/ICC-World-Cup-2011-c100625 Twenty20 World Cup 2012. His side is currently ranked number one in the shortest version of the game and will be favourite to win the Mega Event next year.
