Pakistani Skipper, Misbah ul Haq, is concerned over India’s continuous denial towards DRS’ implementation in their cricketing events, saying that their persistence is marring the system’s reputation.
According to Misbah, the technology has made it easier for both, players and umpires, to corroborate LBW and caught-behind decisions.
Talking to the media today, the veteran batsman said, “It is beyond me as to why the Indians oppose the DRS all the time. It is a modern technology that is not harming the sport. It is in its infant stages and can be made more productive with time.”
Misbah’s comments follow BCCI’s refusal to employ the review system in the ongoing 4-Test series between India and http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Australia-c746. Despite the home team’s intense insistence, the Indians have not changed their stiff stance.
The Men in Blue have opposed the system since its inception considering it to be flawed. Succumbing to Indian board’s influence, the International Cricket Council (http://www.senore.com/Cricket/ICC-World-Cup-2011-c100625) has made the DRS optional; only to be used with the consent of the playing teams. India
has greatly benefited from this decision and has been declining DRS’ usage ever since.
Misbah asserts to be a fervent supporter of the innovation, which he thinks, has upgraded the game’s standards to quite an extent.
He said, “There is no doubt that there is a room for improvement in this technology and that will only be worked out if it is implemented consistently in all series.”
The cool captain opines that India-Pakistan’s bilateral cricket series is always a thrilling event for the fans, therefore authorities of both the sides should work on resuming cricketing ties as soon as possible.
He stated, “I know that due to the current status quo millions of cricket fans are being deprived of some high class cricket contests, which also boost the image of the sport.”
