Misbah-ul-Haq, the Pakistan captain, is extremely disappointed to have failed to secure a victory in the third One Day International (ODI) of the five-match series against West Indies at St. Lucia and admitted that Jason Holder took the game away from his
team.
The match at St. Lucia finished as a tie, with the series still level at 1-1.
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/West-Indies-c760 won the toss and opted to bowl first on a batting track. The decision turned out to be the right one as the visitors were limited to just 229 runs for the loss of seven wickets in their allotted 50 overs, with Misbah leading the Green Shirts
from the front once again and scoring a valiant 75. He was ably supported by http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Umar-Akmal-c94595, who registered an unbeaten 40.
The home team were in trouble with the bat from the beginning and at one stage they looked down and out before the tail-enders, Holder, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Pakistan-c755.
While expressing his disappointment after the match, Misbah praised the performance of Holder, who smacked 19 runs off just nine balls. The Pakistan captain also believes that his team should have scored more runs with the bat.
“The way Holder played he took the game away. In the last over we bowled too many full deliveries. I thought 229 was a fightable total, but in the end we missed a couple of tricks. There were a lot of dot balls (in our innings), I thought we were 30 runs
short,” said the 39-year-old cricketer.
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/LMP-Simmons-c1843 was the star of the show for the Caribbean men as the right-hander scored 75 runs off just 86 balls with the help of seven boundaries and a couple of massive hits out of the park. He was jointly adjudged as the Player of the Match along with
Misbah. Simmons is delighted with his performance and admitted that this score was due on him.
The batsman expressed, “Thought it was a good batting wicket. Didn't get many big scores in the last two games. We wanted to rotate the strike. Good performance from Sunil and Jason.”
The fourth ODI is going to be played tomorrow at the same venue.
