Pakistani skipper, Misbah-ul-Haq, praised his side’s fight back in the 2nd One Day International from the ongoing five-match series against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Sri-Lanka-c758, played at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium, on November 14, 2011.

"I think the way they started, them taking three early wickets, we were under pressure," said Misbah while talking to the reporters at the post match media conference. "Everyone fought well until it ended,” he added further.

Pakistan, after winning the first ODI of the series quite convincingly, got off to a tumultuous start in their 236-run chase in the second match, losing three early wickets – including the opening duo of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Younis-Khan-c98325. The trio was sent packing after a combined contribution of 7 runs, with Younis falling on a duck.

However, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Umar-Akmal-c94595 led the fight back, with able support from Misbah at the other end. Together, the skipper and Umar posted 64 runs on the board for the 4th wicket, with the bulk coming from the latter’s hand.

The board read 75 for 4 when Misbah was adjudged leg-before-wicket off http://www.senore.com/Cricket/LD-Chandimal-c1831.

Despite Akmal’s valiant 91, scored off 102 balls and including eight boundaries and a six, the Men in Green fell short of the 236-run par score – being bowled out for 210 in the 47th over. Misbah, though happy with his side’s effort to reclaim the match, termed it as a bad day.

“It was a bad day for us. It was just a matter of playing 50 overs, which we did not do,” said the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Pakistan-c755 skipper. I am happy with the way we fought after losing three early wickets. The youngsters really performed well. Although Akmal played well he ended the day on the losing side,” he added further.

The Pakistani skipper concluded by saying that the side is aware of its weaknesses and would back stronger in the 3rd clash of the series, which will be played at the same venue on Friday, November 18, 2011.
