Misbah-ul-Haq praises hard work of the team – Cricket News Update
Pakistan’s skipper http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Misbah-ul-Haq-c1972 has praised his side’s solid performance against Sri Lanka in the Test and One Day International (ODI) series and claimed that the results are only positive due to sheer hard work.
The Men in Green started their campaign nicely by dominating the opposition in the three match Test series, winning it by 1-0.
Although two matches ended in draw, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Pakistan-c755 were mostly in control of them and could have easily won all.
The most important thing for the team was winning the series and then carry on with the same momentum in the ODIs.
This was exactly what happened, as the hosts started off the ODI series in a dominant way, crushing the opposition by eight wickets.
However, the Lankan http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Lions-c808 are a very tough opponent when it comes to limited-over cricket and bounced back in the second ODI, winning it comfortably.
Misbah and his men were not bothered by this defeat and managed to win the next three matches convincingly, taking the series by 4-1.
According to the Pakistani skipper, “It was all due to hard work. We decided to just come and play good, hard cricket. That is what we were aiming for before the series. We knew http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Sri-Lanka-c758 was a tough side and gives a hard fight. We gave 100 per cent and
we are pleased to have these results.”
The Men in Green have been criticised for not being consistent over the years, but things seemed to have changed in the recent past. The team has now won four consecutive ODI series against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Zimbabwe-c3045 and now Sri Lanka. They also
look good to overcome http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Bangladesh-c747 in an upcoming tour next month.
Misbah claimed, “I think this team has been playing, we can say, for a year-and-a-half, so they have now got good experience and are developing into a good team. Now you can say they are playing good cricket and I foresee a good future for this team, we
can go to the top.”
Pakistan have done extremely well under their 37-year-old skipper, but will be concerned due to his age.
It will be interesting to see that how long can Misbah continue playing cricket for the country, but one thing is for sure that he has given a new direction to the team.
