Misbah-ul-Haq satisfied with http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Pakistan-c755’s performance in last two years – Cricket News Update
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Misbah-ul-Haq-c1972, the Pakistan captain, is extremely satisfied with the performances of the national team in international cricket over the last couple of years and has credit the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), team management and the players
for the success of the Green Shirts.
Pakistan cricket faced a dark period in 2010 after a couple of disastrous tours of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Mohammad-Asif-c1993 were banned from competitive cricket and people had
started to write off Pakistan from international cricket.
Misbah was appointed as the Test captain at that stage and against all odds Pakistan started to perform much better in all formats of the game, winning Test series against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Zimbabwe-c3045. In
the limited-overs format, the Green Shirts won the Asia Cup 2012 in Bangladesh and qualified for the semi-finals of the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/ICC-World-Cup-2011-c100625 Cricket World Cup 2011 and the ICC World T20 2012.
While talking exclusively to ESPNcricinfo, the cricketer from Mianwali admitted that the national side faced an extremely tough time in 2010 but expressed his satisfaction over the team’s showings. Misbah refuses to take complete credit
for Pakistan’s revival in international cricket and believes that others have played their part too.
“Indeed [it was] a huge responsibility. It was a really difficult situation for Pakistan cricket. But it's unfair for me to take the entire credit. Everyone played their role: the board, the coaching staff, and the new players,” he
said. “I was given a task to rebuild everything from scratch with a group that was new and inexperienced. But the results after all those debacles - in 2009 and 2010 - were incredible.”
The middle-order batsman further added that the players were desperate to prove to the rest of the world that Pakistan is a major force at the highest stage of the game and this motivation led to a much improved performance.
“The main driving force was the will to prove everyone wrong and regain credibility. As a captain it's always important to be trusted,” Pakistan’s Test and ODI captain added.
