Misbah-ul-Haq says team was hurt after losing to Sri Lanka – Cricket News Update
Pakistan’s skipper http://www.senore.com/Cricket/United-Arab-Emirates-c3033 (UAE) on Monday,
November 14, 2011.
The series is currently levelled at 1-1 with three more matches to go. Both teams are well balanced and will be looking forward to gaining a lead of 2-1 after winning the third ODI, scheduled to be played on Friday, November 18.
However, the Pakistani captain believes his side could have been 2-0 up in the series and was disappointed after not being able to win the second match.
The 37-year-old stated, “It is a concern that we have lost chasing scores but we are performing as a team very well over the last year-and-a-half. We were hurt by the defeat in the second match so we have analysed our overall performance. For us every match
is important.”
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Pakistan-c755 lost the toss in the first two matches and have been forced to chase targets. There is always a chance of dew playing a vital role in the second innings of the match in the evening, but Misbah thinks that toss and dew are not the factors he bothers
about.
The veteran batsman added, “Dew is not in our control so we are not going to think much about it. Whether bowling first or batting first has its advantages and we have to capitalise on those advantages to win.”
Misbah has had a very good time as captain of the Pakistan team and will look to continue that in the future as well.
The middle-order batsman was initially appointed as skipper of the Test side, but inspired the selectors to make him captain of all three formats of the game.
Out of the five Test series played as captain, Misbah has won three and is yet to lose any despite playing cricket against top quality sides like http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Sri-Lanka-c758.
The solid cricketer was also unbeaten in seven ODI matches as captain before his loss to Sri Lanka in Dubai. However, his aim will be to win the series and gain more confidence as the leader of the team.
