An improvement in Pakistan team’s T20 rankings will be on the mind of triumphant skipper Misbah-ul-Haq, when his side will take the field against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Sri-Lanka-c758 in the only T20 International of the tour, in Abu Dhabi, on Friday, November 25, 2011.
Misbah-ul-Haq, who was given the charge of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Pakistan-c755’s limited overs squad in May earlier this year, was hopeful his team would improve its record in the shortest format of the game with a victory over the Lankans on Friday night.
"I am confident that we will do our best in the Twenty20 to improve our ranking," said the triumphant Pakistan skipper while talking to the media reporters ahead of the only T20 match.
Pakistan, the 2009 World Twenty20 champions, currently stands at number seven on the world t20 rankings. The men in green have lost 13 of their last 24 T20 games and Misbah wants to improve the run with an outstanding performance against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/TM-Dilshan-c2691’s
men.
During the ongoing tour of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/United-Arab-Emirates-c3033, Pakistan defeated Sri Lanka 1-0 in the three-match Test series before winning the five-match One Day International series 4-1. Misbah hoped his side will continue with its good form. He said that the ultimate
goal of the team is to win each and every game it plays against any side in the world.
"It is good to beat a top ranked side 4-1 and I am very happy because my team is improving and performing so well. The goal is to improve day by day and we want to extend the victory sequence," said Misbah.
Misbah also praised his side’s performance in the recently concluded ODI series. The 4-1 One-Day series victory has lifted Pakistan to fifth position on the ODI rankings of International Cricket Council.
Since taking over as Pakistan’s limited over captain in June, Misbah has so far led Pakistan in ten One Day Internationals, winning nine of them. The middle-order batsman was appointed as the Test captain of Pakistan and has won four of the total five series
he played as captain.
Meanwhile, Sri Lankan captain, Tillakaratne Dilshan, hoped his side would make a strong comeback in the T20 match after failing to impress in the Test and ODI series.
