Misbah-ul-Haq urges his batting line-up to rectify the mistakes – Cricket news
Disappointed with his side’s batting performance in their opening match of the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Misbah-ul-Haq-c1972, the Pakistan captain, understands that his team must not repeat the mistakes if they have any chance
of qualifying for the semi-finals.
Having won the toss, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Nasir-c78728 Jamshed’s
patient half-century, the Green Shirts were able to post a total of 170 runs on the board before being bowled out in the 48th over.
While expressing his views in the post-match presentation ceremony, the middle-order batsman said that his side could have scored a lot more if http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Jamshed-c66276 had not played a reckless stroke.
The skipper mentioned, “The plan was to see off the new ball but we did oppositely. Credit goes to them too, they bowled well. With Nasir and I, we could have gone to 240-250, but some bad shots and we kept on losing wickets. If you are set, you can't make
mistake, otherwise your team suffers.”
At the halfway stage, no cricket analyst was giving Pakistan a chance; however, Misbah’s men put up a great fight and came extremely close to dismantling the Caribbean men, who eventually crossed the line with just two wickets in hand.
Misbah, who is yet to register his maiden ton in the 50-overs format, fell short of three figures by just four runs as he ran out of partners. However, he is more worried about his team’s performance rather than personal milestones.
“The century doesn't matter. Runs matter only if the team wins. Really happy with the way the bowlers bowled. Everybody bowled their hearts out,” Misbah added. “We need to rectify the small mistakes. Everybody who made the little mistakes need to say they
could have done better.”
The Green Shirts will play their second match of the tournament on Monday against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/South-Africa-c757 at Birmingham, having no more room for error.
