Misbah ul Haq wants Shahid Afridi and Kamran Akmal to perform with the bat – Cricket News Update
Misbah ul Haq, the Pakistan captain, is not happy with the performances of the lower-middle order in the recent past and feels that http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Kamran-Akmal-c70122 must perform in the later stages of an innings if the Green Shirts
are to do well against top teams.
Pakistan is currently playing a three-match One Day International (ODI) series against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/United-Arab-Emirates-c3033 (UAE), losing the first match by four wickets at Sharjah. The second ODI is going to be played today at Abu Dhabi.
Misbah’s bowlers put up a brilliant fight, troubling the Kangaroos through spin but the batsmen led to Pakistan’s downfall yet again. At one stage of the innings, with 160 for the loss of four wickets, the Green Shirts looked all
set to post a score of around 250 on the board; however, the lower-middle order collapsed badly, only finishing at 198.
The http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Pakistan-c755 skipper is devastated with the batsmen’s performance and believes that the side is refusing to learn from mistakes which were made in Sri Lanka earlier in the year. The middle-order batsman also urged the likes of Afridi
and Akmal to raise their game, being two of the most experienced players in the present team.
"Our lower order is not contributing," expressed Misbah. "We are losing matches because we are not scoring runs there and that is why we had Shahid Afridi and Kamran Akmal." "We committed mistakes, mistakes we have been repeating
in the last two or three series."
On the other side of the coin, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/MJ-Clarke-c1978, the Australian captain, is jubilant with George Bailey’s performance, who batted slowly earlier in his knock but made sure that the Baggy Greens crossed the line.
The right-hander happens to be the T20 captain and Clarke is optimistic that he will do well in the upcoming http://www.senore.com/Cricket/ICC-World-Cup-2011-c100625 World T20 2012, which is scheduled to be held in Sri Lanka in September/October.
"The most pleasing thing was that George was there at the end. These days in one-day cricket, a lot is spoken about your strike-rate. George wasn’t concerned about how many balls he was facing. He’s the T20 captain and I know he’s
looking forward to hopefully winning that World Cup in http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Clarke-c51120.
