Question:

Miscarriage or early pregnancy spotting?

I just found out I was pregnant a week ago, and 2 days ago I started spotting lightly. VERY light cramping, not even period strength. I'm spotting so lightly it doesn't even get on my underwear, I only see it when I wipe. Could this be a miscarriage? When I was pregnant with my second son, I spotted like this for 2 months of my first trimester and he turned out perfectly. I just need some opinions, because this has got me very depressed/worried/terrified. I don't have any insurance yet, so I can't go to the doctor (not that he could tell me anything yet anyway). I can't test again for at least a week! I can't go on like this - I have a family to care for!!!

  1. It's called implantation bleeding which means you probably are like 6 to 7 weeks pregnant! The cramping is the implantation pain! However get into a doctor ASAP to verify and let them decide what is happening. Most likely they will do an ultrasound to ensure baby is growing fine! I had severe implantation pain  and thought for sure something was wrong. I had not experienced that with my other two. All turned out OK though on an ultrasound! Now I am 25 weeks and baby is doing just fine! Talk to your doctor and I hope all will be just fine!

  2. Nothing to worry about honey, I had the same issue with my pregnancy. As long as its light and not heavy and clotty then there is nothing to worry about. Its most likely spotting. The books and doc always tell you as long as its light and pinkish then you're fine. If it turms dark red then that could be a flag. But for now, i think your safe. Just sit back relax and enjoy being pregnant! I loved it! Congrats!

  3. Bleeding in pregnancy can be brought on by a number of things (even stress!!) I think this is spotting in your case!! I know it is very scary to ever see blood in pregnancy, but think that some women bleed bright red and have perfectly healthy and beautiful babies. The stress of this can't be good for you (I know it is inevitable--and it shows you're a great mom!!),I would try my best to relax. If it gets any worse, or you really feel you need closure, go to the E.R. (it's what I did, I bled early in pregnancy, it turned out my cervix was ruptured.) Your insurance should pick up the charges once you're approved.

Good luck with everything :), I'm sure it will be fine!!

  4. obviously i can't say what's going on with you, but i had light bleeding like you describe with my son (who's 2), and dark, heavy, bright red bleeding with nasty cramps with my current pregnancy (twins). i am 33 weeks, and all is well. so hang in there. try not to focus on the worst case scenario... bleeding is VERY common in early pregnancy.

  5. light spotting can be normal, but i'll tell you my story..I had light bleeding and very mild cramping with myu last pregnancy in December, I was only 5 weeks along and it ended up as a miscarriage. Either way you should at least go to the ER and get checked, you wont need insurance up front for that, good luck!!!

  6. Dont panic, sounds to me like your just having late implantaion bleeding., I had the same thing when i was about 12 weeks along. I am now 36 weeks and she is perfect. You have nothing to worry about. If it does get dark red or is enough that you need a liner go and see the doctor ASAP but other than that i think your just showing signs of implantation.

  7. My thought is you have nothing to worry about.  Early spotting, especially around the time your period is due, is completey normal.  Unless it is really heavy or bright red, I wouldn't be to concerned about a miscarriage.

Try to relax and ease your mind! You do not need any extra stress!  Congratulations and Best Wishes!

  8. I don't think you are having a miscarriage. I had the same thing happen. I am 11 weeks with a healthy baby now. The bleeding happened at 5 1/2 weeks. If the bleeding persists and does not go away. Then you are going to have to go to a doctor despite not having coverage. Your baby's life could be in jeopardy so money is not an issue. Good luck!

  9. light spotting can be normal in early pregnancy, any dark red blood or clots are a sign of miscarriage.
