hi.. I'm afraid my 'ole copier is discontinued... it was still working fine, until, for no reason (wasn't feeding it or anything), it shows misfeed in the lid/feed section. There's nothing there to misfeed! Any thoughts?

Mine is a Lanier 6714, I hope it's that simple. I also got the paper misfeed led on whenever I start a copy.
But there seems not to have anything jammed inside. It takes about 3 seconds from the start of the copy to the error / jammed stop + red light.
Otherwise it is still working from the side manual feed tray as shown below:
Well, the problem seams to be from either a captor as you said, or this roller/feeder which does goes down and up in the paper tray to get a sheet, but only manage to barely move the paper half a inch toward the rest of the roller system.
Any ideas?
