Misrolav Marian Klose, German National Football squad’s dreadful striker, remains to be one of the most mysterious players in the game today. This 32-year old Polish-born has the ability to calmly go with the flow of the game and suddenly bursts into action, nailing the most crucial, and on some occasions, the game’s winning goal. He is indeed a man of a few words but many exploits. He currently plays for Bayern Munich in Bundesliga.

The nationality of Klose has become an issue in some ports of media as his father claimed that son’s success can never be attributed to Poland, instead to German clubs. Josef Klose, Misrolav’s father came from an ethnic German family. For this reason, they were allowed to live and settle in West Germany. In an interview, Misrolav asked the people to not tag him as German or Polish, just European. This act shows his respect to both communities, which are dear to his heart.

Klose became famous for his ability to disrupt and disturb the opponent’s defense as he crosses over, tilts and scores. He has incredible control of the ball and a winning instinct, which has made him the clutch man for the German team. However, he was regarded as a late bloomer for his age and level. He started his playing career when he turned 20. He first joined FC Homburg and later on transferred to FC Kaiserslautern in 1999. Comfortably making it to the starting 11, Klose converted 33 goals in 67 appearances. The next season would be just the complete opposite of how good he played in the previous term, as he missed seven important goals for the club.

In 2004, he jumped into Werder Bremen and signed a €5 million deal. In this team, his goal-to-match played ratio tremendously improved. With this club, he gelled well and formed the team’s triumvirate along with Johan Micoud (French) and Ivan Klasnic (Croatian). During the 2005-2006 Bundesliga Season, he was the top scorer with 25 goals and 16 assists in just 26 appearances.

He first witnessed World Cup action in 2002, but it was just in 2006 FIFA World Cup where his talent led him to be included in the German National Football Team. Following his superb performance at the recent competition, European giants courted him to transfer. Teams who allegedly made a bid to snatch Klose away from Werder are Barcelona, Juventus and Bayern Munich. And with his super performances in previous competitions, giant European teams tried to acquire his services. Teams like Barcelona, Juventus, and Bayern Muncih tried to snatch him away from Werder.

Klose decided to leave Werder and signed a four-year contract with Bayern Munich. Incidentally, his first match with his new team was against Werder and played impressively as he led Bayern Munich to a 4-1 victory. His second season with Bayern was very successful though he sustained an injury that year. Despite that nagging injury, he was able to finish on top of the scoring list with his 20 goals.

Apart from Ballack, Joachim Low and the rest of the nation lay their hopes in the prowess and solid striking capabilities of Misrolav Klose. The German Nation Football smashed the Australian National Football Team in their opening campaign at the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa in a 4-0 resounding victory. Germany celebrated their first triumph in this year’s competition at Durban. Germany’s four goals came from Misrolav Klose, Thomas Mueller, Cacau and man of the match striker Lukas Podolski.
The tables quickly turned as Joachim Low’s boys were stunned by a goal from Serbia’s Milan Jovanovic, in 1-0 loss, in their second outing in the World Cup, where Klose was dismissed due to a red card. Klose should control his emotions in their next few games if he wants to help his team reach the deeper part of the tournament.
