I don't understand how former Miss Alaska Sarah Palin, who used her looks and fame to become the Mayor of a town of 9000, and then who used her looks, fame, and little experience to become the Governor of the most insignificant state in the nation, can be taken seriously as a vice presidential candidate.

If McCain wanted a woman so bad (to trick Hillary Supporters probably), he had Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison or Sen. Elizabeth Dole. They are actually educated and relevant.

  1. Exactly what we are saying. We don't care if McCain choose a woman, but at least the more credible ones. What happens is his blatant pandering to women and to men (for her looks) is so appaling.

  2. Interesting how many yound women on this forum are trashing a woman candidate. Are you jealous, scared or both?

  3. crack smoking student, community organizer, senator for 2 years, PRESIDENT??????

  4. I know right. McCain just kissed the presidency away. But some people might vote for her because she's hot for her age/politician. And actually some women actually switched their vote to mccain. How sad.

  5. better than a junior senator with 143 days of experience

    hugs!

  6. Who really cares ???    Neither party will fulfill its promises anyway.

Millions will sneak into the country and it will no longer be America.  We will sell all of our Oil to our enemies for 12 dollars per barrel and buy their inferior crude at 150 bucks per barrel. We will pee away more billions on fruitless wars that are unwinnable, not mentioning how much good that money could do in a WPA project at home.

  7. The same could be said of the poor ***** boy who didn't have enough money for college. Through affirmative action went and then got into Harvard where he was then chosen as President of the Harvard Review. Again through affirmative action. Then somehow he found his way to Shitcago and became friends with some of the most corrupt America hating people on the planet. Of course these people footed the bill for the articulate black boy to get into politics. I guess that's gonna be many favors he owes to his hoodlum friends if you dumbass's vote for him and he somehow wins....

  8. Obama's resume is every bit as thick.

  9. It's insulting to women.

I know that being president of U.S. is on McCains "bucket list", but when he "hits the bucket" america will be left with Sarah Palin, who is completely unqualified...

  10. lol..repubs are desperate

  11. It shows how little you know about Sarah Palin but for the sake of argument let's assume you are right.  Is that any different than Obama using being Black?  Obama was a community activist that never did anything for the community, a state senator who seldom actually cast a vote, and a junior US senator who spent most of his term campaigning.  Palin has a much experience as Obama but unlike Obama she will be vice president and president in training.

It seems to me that with the current energy discussions and Alaska being rich in resources that Alaska is far from insignificant.

  12. Before ppl. start whining, do your research.  Palin has more real experience than Obama who was senator for only two years, (Congress is only required to meet 4x a year & I have not been impressed nor seen any credibility in his decisions as senator).

Gov. Sarah Palin on the other hand, has a proven record of making sound decisions... Not based on what's "popular" but on what is "right", and that in turn has increased her approval rating.

I personally am very impressed by her ethics.  This is someone we need in Washington.  As governor of Alaska, she even cut her own salary (unheard of for most greedy politicians) & reduced property taxes by 60% while in office.  Before becoming governor, she served as  the Ethics Commissioner of the Alaska Oil and Gas Conservation Commission.  The best thing about her governorship was that she actually kept her campaign promises.  I am finally excited about this election now, (whereas I wasn't before).  Palin may have less experience than McCain, but she has more experience than Obama. She is perfect for VP.

  13. Community "organizer", law school lecturer (no, NOT professor!), successful short-term exponent of the corrupt Chicago Democrat political machine who used the legal system to disqualify ALL of his opponents in his IL Senate race and had Alan Keyes(!) as his "opponent" in his US Senate race, PRESIDENT???

  14. You are dead wrong.  Sarah Palin is the most popular governor in The United States.  She carries with her an 80 percent approval rathing.  If you have a chance talk to some of the people in Alaska.  I have and they think John McCain has picked the best person in the country, but will be sorry to lose her.  Don't sell this beauty queen short.  There is far more upstairs than just beauty.  Lookout Obama/Biden.  You are in for a real trip.

  15. So, Miss Alaska Sarah Palin is pretty and has little experience.  What do you say about Obama?  He has little experience and Democrats consider him everything short of God.  So, what is your point?

In my opinion, I would rather have the inexperienced as a VP vs. a Pres.  At least she is willing to learn the system compared to Obama.

And what is your point?  That an inexperienced VP WOMAN is a lot worse than an inexperienced PRES MAN?  And, who, may I ask is the discriminator?

I love the last paragraph.  Nothing like covering your butt for the sexist comment.  It makes me laugh...

  16. We can't forget McCain is a war veteran and an experienced politician and Sarah Palin did it, and did it very well. She's a governor and she did it without any family tradition, or being a millionaire. She did it by her own. Being a former state Miss isn't a negative point. Anything against being beautiful? I will vote for American candidates and not for adventure and pure marketing.

  17. Right, and a guy who was a Chicago senator for about three hours and a "community organizer" (a job comparable to that of a PTA president) is qualified to be president.  Thank GOD he uses French Vanilla flavoring in his coffee or he'd have NO experience with international affairs at all!    Abe Lincoln was a small town lawyer, and George Washington was a soldier and a surveyor.  What's your point?

  18. As opposed to a "community organizer" hmmm?

I think perhaps running the largest state in the nation is a somewhat better experience for a national executive office than planning block parties is...

  19. probably the same as no experience obama can be taken seriously as running for president.

at least Palin knows how to run things and has "Executive" experience!

    your just jealous.

also, my screen name allies to you very well.

  20. When you stop whining about Obama being outsmarted by McCain in his VP choice, join the rest of the country in recognizing a very accomplished lady perfect for the job.

  21. FINALLY!! Someone here is mentally sane!

    HURRAY!

    Don't expect good answers here

    I hear..

Most people in this section are mentally challenged retards.!.

Stupid McBush supporters, go fight in Iraq and kill urselves.

The only thing that i'm excited about Palin is that she's a frigin milf.

  22. I am shocked by his choice.

Is this a ploy to "throw" his candidacy? Seems like electoral suicide to me.

    Hillary should be running!!!

  23. Chances are, McCain DID ask Kay Bailey Hutchinson to be his running mate, and she REFUSED! I think she's aiming for TX governor, not a running-mate on a loosing-ballot.

I supported Hillary (and Obama) for what they stood for and their political platform. NOT the s*x of the candidate.

McCain can have a woman VP on his ticket, but that will not change the fact that his policies are horrible for America in this desperate time of need. We cannot ignore that we need better health coverage, tax-cuts that don't overlook the majority, and for America to stop wasting tax-dollars on wars and special interests that benifit oil companies, executives, and lobbyists.

In short, NO I would NOT vote for McCain/Palin. My vote stands for change, one that Obama/Biden hope to bring to to White House.

  24. Do you really think that disrespecting small town America is going to win Obama votes from those blue collar workers?

Do you know what a faux pas is?

  25. "the most insignificant state in the nation"

Alaska isn't insignificant. Alaska is the largest state, there's lot's of natural resources (lot's of oil) and it's one of the most beautiful places in America.

  26. KBH and ED are not as good looking but have more experience. I get the felling ole Johhny Boy was a little frisky when he made his choice.

  27. I am a McCain supporter and I think this choice was one of the worst things he could of done.  Its more like a slap in the face to people who were going to vote for Hillary, instead as an incentive to vote republican this time.

He might be doing this to get support for drilling in Alaska but I think he is trying to mimic Obama by getting someone young and inexperienced.

If I were McCain I would of picked Joe Lieberman or Tom Ridge, Lieberman would underline the "walking to the other side of isle" thing that McCain is so famous for and Tom Ridge is a good figure to lead the Republican party in 2012, plus he only adds to McCain's experience being the former head of the department of homeland security

  28. Yeap...I agree. Bad move Mr. McCain...I am not your "friend" anymore.

  29. Agreed on the last part, but Sarah didn't have any fame to get elected.  She won due to the previous governor's infamy.

Alaska is far from the least significant state.  It is the largest by far, and has a buttload of oil and natural gas.  It will become more and more important every year.

The scary part is that McPain is 72 today, and if he died as president, we could have a hockey mom in charge of the most powerful military in the world.  I would prefer a post-menopausal woman so she wouldn't hit the red button in a fit of PMS.

  30. Street organizer, senator (kind of), PRESIDENT?

Were you planning on having a point?

Uh...RACHEL...Didn't they run against each other in the primariies? Each telling the faithful that the other's positions were dead wrong? Explain to us how you can support them both (other than through blind partisan loyalty). You're more flexible than a 13 year-old Chinese gymnast, aren't you?

  31. community organizer?, state senator, 143 days as US senator, PRESIDENT????

    No Thanks!
