In the talent spot on The Miss America pagent Saturday night

Miss Indinana sung a song that was in a different language then the President of the United States speaks.

Does singing a song in a different language

represent Miss America?

  1. She may have sung it in her native tongue and since her land is very much a part of America, so it does represent America.

  2. Not really, its not american, but it does represent national world pride. but english is better

  3. Was it actually in *coherent*  English, is that what you mean by a "different" language?  

    In the alternative, if it actually was in a language other than English, wouldn't that resonate with the fact that we are all really immigrants a couple of generations back.  And, thus, a "melting pot" of peoples from different cultures with different  languages?  What's unAmerican, then, about that?
