Miss You Too looking good for Irish Oaks – Horseracing News
Miss You Too is looking all set to represent her team in the Irish Oaks, but her camp is fully aware of the fact that things will not be easy for them.
According to trainer David Simcock, “It's a competitive enough field and the handicapper has probably got her about right on 96. I'd be a bit dubious about the form of the race, what with The Lark and Banoffee coming out of the
Oaks and running pretty badly. That said the track should suit her style of racing and she's in good order, so we go there hopeful rather than confident.”
The three-year-old filly is not new to the sport, as she has participated in quite a few races in her career until now. However, her strike rate is not good at all, which is not a good sign for any runner in the sport. She has
only won once out of 10 events, thus her team would want some improvement in the coming competitions.
Interestingly, the young filly has come close to winning a lot of races in her career, but lacks the confidence to go one step further. Therefore, she has ended up as a runner up on four times in her career whereas secured the
third spot once.
One of the reasons behind Miss You Too’s struggle seems to be the extra stress put on her by the team. After making her debut last year, she was sent in way too many competitions, which would have affected her overall performance.
However, things seem to be under control this year, as she has only been sent out in a couple of events.
It is expected that Audacia might also take part in the Oaks and her trainer Hugo Palmer said, “She won a soft-ground maiden very easily and, although we're going into uncharted territory, she's strengthened up enormously since
her runs at two and has improved since her last run as well.”
The three-year-old filly is relatively new to the sport, as she has only taken part in three races, winning one of them whereas secured the runner up spot on the same number of times.
