Missed period, what can be the cause?

iv been on birth control on and off for about a year (on for a month or two, off for 2 to 4 months) and my periods usually come when expected, especially when im on birth control. I was on it last this past may and june, and took my last pill on the last week of june, and got my period early july (regular period) like july 13, its is now august 24 and i have nooo signs of my period comming except mucusy discgare that stopped about a week ago, i had not had any sexual activity since before my last period, i have no prenacy symtoms. What could be the cause???

Two possibilities occur to me here with your question. One is that your body is finding it difficult to cope with the changing hormone patterns - on the pill, off it, on it again. The second is that you may need to have a smear test done just to make sure there are no cell changes.
