Missed the meteor shower. How long does it last?

I missed the meteor shower last night cause I fell asleep. When does the meteor shower end? Will I be able to see it tonight? (east coast USA)

Sure - I saw as many on Saturday night as I did last night. The Earth is passing through a cloud of comet debris that causes the meteors to enter the atmosphere. That's a pretty big cloud, and it takes a few days to get through it. Sometimes it's actually better on the adjacent nights than on the "peak" night. It's a little hard to predict. Your best bet is to go to bed early so you don't fall asleep again, then get up a couple of hours before dawn, get out as soon as you can and look straight up.

Tonight should be OK. On the following nights, the number of meteors will start to drop away and the moon will interfere more. By the weekend, the shower will be down to about 20% of the maximum.
