Question:

Missile Shield goes ahead in Eastern Europe! Yippee!?

Yesterday and today, the final documents were signed for a missile shield in Eastern Europe (Poland and the Ceczh Republic) to defend against Irainian missiles. To those who say "What Iran missile threat?" Well don't take my word for it, how about having this conversation with the Irainians, because i'm pretty sure that they would be delighted to inform you about their missile capabilities, about how far they can reach, how much they are investing, who they are targeted against, how they've always got their fingers on the trigger, how proud they are, of their recent missile tests, etc, etc. There not even installed yet, but i feel safer already. I'm so very happy now, that the next time Iran fires missiles, we aren't butt naked, unprotected against them!

To those who are gunna say Russis's going to attack, which would mean sparking World War 3 and ending humanity over such a thing. I highly doubt that. I'm so confident of WW3 not happening, that i'm willing to bet you money (any amount of money) that there will be no nuclear exchange between NATO and Russia, over this. I'm so, so sure of it, i'll say that as FACT! In 2 months time, we will still be here, in 2 years, 20 years, we'll still be here.

So, will you take me up on my bet???

  1. I can't even imagine this happening during cold war, this is of course a great DIPLOMATIC victory for US.  However I don't think STRATEGICALLY it makes much sense to have this anti missile shield in Poland, unless the entire purpose of it is to intimidate Russia or Korea...

Most interesting is that Iran does not have long range missiles to reach North America... Who are we protecting by this shield? EU?  Are the real aggressors we are concerned with is Russia, China or Korea?  In this event I would agree that Eastern Europe would be a good STRATEGIC location, if of course Russia, China or Korea are the real danger.  But let's image the worse, Russians or Koreans are attacking, would you think that they would select a shorter distance over the Pacific ocean to attack US?

  2. I am happy as well about the missile defense system. But my friend ww 3 is on the way , People will survive it. That I am SURE of . A lot will die but a lot will survive. I`ll bet you a trillion us dollars on it.

  3. i agree with most of this,

who do the russians/soviets think they are? threatening poland with nuclear attack, because they have been inhibited by the missile shield, the shield is not a threat to them or anyone, it is a defense system,

no i wont bet you, cause the soviets have attacked poland in the past, ww2, and held them behind the communist block for what, 40yrs

I am not using the term soviet on accident or due to being misinformed, they have turned back into a world threat

o.k. maybe its just saber rattling, but who do they think they are threatening a peaceful country with nukes, they are so afraid that those missile interceptors will be used against their missiles maybe we should aim them at russia, maybe russia likes being able to intimidate smaller countries.

  4. This is a proud day for America. We have further ensured our safety and longevity with this missile shield. I would like to see President Bush personally go over and dedicate it. Should make for a glorious newscast.

Let Russia have missles. We will shoot them down.

  5. Iran wishes it was a threat, like a snake wishes it could eat an elephant.  Nobody believes it is aimed at Iran.  It is aimed at Russia.  Russia is not going to attack, but it is an abrogation of the carefully crafted arms treaties that have kept the world safe for half a century.  Now there will be a new arms race and although it might not end in WWIII, it will end in a lot of wasted taxpayer money (on both sides of the Atlantic) and a lot of rich defense contractors.

I think we will still be here in 20 years whether we build this pork barrel boondogle or not.

  6. Many thanks to Putin et al for making this possible with his attempt to reconstitute the Soviet Union. Congratulations comrade!

  7. Iran wishes it was a threat, like a snake wishes it could eat an elephant.  No intelligent person believes the missiles are aimed at countering Iran.  They are aimed at countering Russia.  The Russians are understandably as upset as when the Russians put missiles in Cuba.  Everyone knows that Russia is not going to attack over it, but it is an abrogation of the carefully crafted arms treaties that have kept the world safe for half a century.  Now there will be a new arms race and although it might not end in WWIII, it will result in a lot of wasted taxpayer money and a lot of profits for defense contractors on both sides of the Atlantic.

I think we will still be here in 20 years whether we build this pork barrel boondogle or not.  But I find it suspicious that a US ally (Georgia) invaded a Russian ally last week in a battle  they couldn't hope to win.  Could this have been a ploy to get push Poland into the Missile treaty while Bush is still in office?  Maybe Ukraine would like some too, but if they took a vote, I'd bet Eastern European voters would rather have a theme park.
