Missing Champions League would be a disaster for Chelsea: Lampard

Tottenham Hotspur.
The Blues have only themselves to blame for their current predicament. A string of poor results throughout the month of December saw them lose their five-point lead at the summit of the Barclays Premier League table to drop down into fifth place.
Chelsea mounted a minor comeback in recent weeks, putting together a four game winning streak. However, the Blues have managed to secure only one point in their last two games. Not only are they now out of the title race, Chelsea also find themselves struggling
to retain their place in the Champions League.
Lampard claims it is absolutely vital that the Blues secure a top four finish in the Premier League. The midfielder said, “We must finish in the top four and can never take our eye off the ball, it would be a disaster if we didn't qualify. There's huge importance
[in cup competitions] because you can see the league's going to be difficult and that means it's more important to reach finals."
