Missing drivers when upgrading to Vista?

I have a laptop that's under 3 years old and I wanted to upgrade to windows vista ultimate. Well, in doing so the sound drivers were not available for my model. Only the (32 bit) processor download was there, where can I locate the (64 bit) drivers to return sound? Has anyone else had this problem?

Welcome to the reality that is Windows Vista. Not all companies have or plan to write 64 bit drivers for their hardware devices. You need to go to the manufacturer of your laptop and get the drivers there, if they don't have them, send them a nasty message.

Well google the name of the company of laptop and add driver with the name, nearly aqll companies has driver for every laptop downloable. You need to know the model of your laptop and search for it in the company's website.

I tried that with my laptop from Acer.

Are you sure that you have a 64 bit processor?  Chances are if you have a laptop under 3 years old that you have a 32 bit processor.  Contact on-line tech support  of the manufacturer that made your laptop, enter the model number and maybe even the serial number of your laptop (found on the bottom of your laptop) and look up the specs.  If still in doubt they may have a chat with a tech online option and you can ask them.  You may be confused because you have a dual core processor which doesn't necessarily mean that it is a 64 bit processor.  Failing all this download the 32 bit driver and see what happens.
