Missing one contraceptive pill?

I've just realised that I have lost 1 pill in my last pack of contraceptive pills and can't get an appointment with my doctors for a week for a renewal prescription. What are the odds of getting pregnant if you miss just one pill from the pack also your final pill in your 21 day pack? Do I have nothing to fear?

The worst pills to miss are your first and last so yeah, you could be in trouble. Just make sure you wear extra protection from now on till you get it back on track again.

If I were you I would use other contraception for one week after missing the pill, as I know about 4 people who have gotten pregnant after not taking their pill correctly.

You should use contraception for a week after the missing pill just in case.  To be homest because its a the end of the paket it won't make a difference because you should get your period within a few days of finishing your packet anyway and this is your least fertile time.  To be on the safe side and for peace of mind.... use a condom for a week and then you won't have to worry at all.  And in response to the other nastier, pointless comments you are not a '''hoe'' you are being very sensible!! Good for you!!!

It depends on whether you're taking the combined pill or not, if you are then you have NOTHING to worry about :)

Missing one pill, especially the last pill, wont make a difference. You'll still be protected like normal.

I used to live in New Zealand and there the official advice that the Family Planning Association give out is that missing one pill is NOT a problem and will NOT result in pregnancy. It's only missing 2 or more pills that is a problem.

If you are worried, doctors sometimes will give out a one month prescription without an appointment if you tell them that you are going to run out otherwise. Or you could go to your local family planning clinic and get some from there.

But really there is no need.

I don't think you have anything to worry about i was on the pill for 5yrs and totally stuffed it up but never fell pregnant.

if u miss one pill ur supposed to wait 7 days before having unprotected s*x but keep taking the pill. if u cant wait 7 days use another form of contraception
